This session featured Grading Categories.

If your courses include multiple tests, quizzes, assignments, and more, it is likely that some are more significant than others, thus counting more (or less) toward the final grade. DigitalChalk can help you simplify managing this process and the necessary calculations through Grading Categories.

In this video, we’ll show you how to set up weighted grading for various elements in a course. In addition, subsets of different element types that are weighted can be managed.

For example, consider a course that has 5 quizzes, 10 assignments, and 1 final exam. Instead of setting a weight for each element, you can establish 3 grading categories such that all quizzes account for 10% of the final grade, all assignments are 40%, and the final exam counts for 50% –and DigitalChalk will do the tabulations for you.
