  • Enhanced Bulk operations in Offerings in the Gradebook so that they now show Offerings in context.
  • Enhanced the “Select All” function in Gradebook to include Elements that are embedded in Sections.
  • Enhanced the User Screen such that the Last Login Date shows on the User Screen in prominence, and created date is now found in hover.
  • Fixed an edge case bug where actions might not complete when Registration Date was set to zero.

June 9, 2023

In the last 24 hours the team has:

  • Put in place a fix for a bug with ILT custom session
  • Put in place a fix for ProctorFree to allow it to launch outside of DigitalChalk.
  • Resolved a handful of edge case bugs related to rules

June 8, 2023

Over the last 24 hours the Dev Team has:

  • Resolved an issue impacting the ability for admins to print receipts from the User screen in the Gradebook.
  • Repaired the “Between Dates” capability for certain custom reports.
  • Resolved an issue with the Advanced Notification “Never Logged In” rule.
  • Fixed a bug in the ILT “edit location” capability.
  • Resolved an issue with user end time in certain reports.

June 7, 2023

In the last 24 hours, the Dev team has gotten a lot done, including:

  • Resolving all outstanding issues with the Survey resume screen.

  • Fixed the Zoom Icon in the course creation screen.
  • Fixed a bug in Offering Discounts.  These should run smoothly now for all use cases.
  • Enhanced the Rules listing interface to make it clearer which rules can be run on-demand.  If you aren’t using Rules in your learning program, you might want to consider looking at them.  They are a powerful tool for learner management and journey creation, and the new interface makes them a lot easier to create and manage.
  • Resolved a bug that was impacting Offering facilitator catalog views.

June 6, 2023

In the last 24 hours the team:

  • Validated the GotoWebinar fix. At this time we have no outstanding tickets for bugs with Instructor-Led-Training, and we believe that all issues have been resolved. If you are having ANY problems with ILT courses, please do let us know.
  • Resolved outstanding issues in Rules. At this time there are no outstanding tier 2 tickets relating to Registration Rules.
  • Returned length of video to the Element Delivery Screen.
  • Put in a fix for an edge case bug in Space & Events.
  • Enhanced the certificate regeneration process so that it no longer requires a date to be entered.
  • Fixed a Gradebook bug for Teams Administrators.
  • Repaired edge case reporting bugs.

June 5, 2023

A lot has happened since Thursday’s release notes, and there is more to come this week. Since that time, the team has:

  • Resolved the Element Preview issue that a number of clients were seeing.
  • Fixed a bug that was preventing Admins from viewing individual test results in certain instances.
  • Enhanced the Action Bar to enable making elements required, activating and deactivating elements bulk-capable activities.
  • Fixed a Search bug for emails with a plus sign in them.
  • Resolved a problem that was preventing the display of the Download button for certificates in the Gradebook in certain instances.
  • Resolved a timing issue in the Gradebook reports.
  • Fixed a bug that would give improper date results in reports in certain edge-case instances.
  • Put in a fix for the GoToMeeting integration issues that some users were experiencing. If the GoToMeeting integration is not working smoothly for you, please do let us know, as we believe that we have now addressed all edge case issues with this integration

June 1, 2023

In the past 24 hours the team:

  • Resolved outstanding site performance issues for reports and delivery. At this time we have cleared out all of the outstanding edge cases on platform performance. We will continually monitor site performance, but there are no more site performance items on the development roadmap for the next quarter. If you or one of your learners encounters any issues relating to site performance, please do let us know.
  • Fixed issue where custom fields weren’t appearing in certain custom reports.
  • Multiple enhancements and minor bug fixes to optimize performance speed for scheduled reports.
  • Resolved issue where Gradebook comments were not saving on the instructor side in certain instances.
  • Resolved API issue for update of user fields when blank.

May 31, 2023

Yesterday and over the weekend we had a handful of periods where meaningful platform performance issues arose. Some of this was attributable to fixes being rolled out when users were trying to access the platform, but last night, after extensive research, we found two other issues that exacerbated these problems. We apologize for this inconvenience, and we plan to put in place two fixes that will address the root cause issues later today.

In addition to that work, our team:

  • Resolved a number of “edge case” notification and report issues.
  • Resolved an outstanding issue relating to categories in the API.
  • Added fields to Gradebook Custom Reports.

May 30, 2023

Over the last 24 hours, the team has mainly been focused on issues with reporting, particularly around issues with:

  • Scheduled reports and notifications
  • Reports that were still timing out even after the earlier database optimizations
  • Edge case bugs

May 26, 2023

In the last 24 hours the team:

  • Resolved an API bug that was hindering the ability to return address and phone information in a user field request in certain circumstances.
  • Resolved the time-in-element issue for Chalkboards. This fix will address this issue going forward for Chalkboards. We continue this work for SCORM elements.
  • Resolved issues with the completion date and time during the post-launch period.
    • During the period May 6th – 16th, if a certificate was issued at the end of a course, the date and time shown in reporting was when the learner downloaded the certificate, which was not always immediately after the class.
    • If they did not download a certificate at all, they would not have shown up as completing the course. There were 36 instances of this happening across all users.
    • The course completion date and time has always been correct on the certificate, just not in the reporting.
    • This issue has been resolved, and all users restored in the reporting to their correct date and time of course completion in reporting.
    • If this issue could create any problems for your company with your regulators, please let us know and we will write a formal letter or email describing the issue and resolution.

May 25, 2023

In the last 24 hours the team has:

  • Revamped Gradebook Report: when you hit the graph icon from a Gradebook page (next to the search bar) you get a report that gives you context-specific data based on your view of the Gradebook. You can also edit the parameters of the Gradebook report now.
  • Enhanced info on all courses for an individual learner when viewed from the Users screen. You can now see progress in all registered courses for an individual learner, and you can even edit an overall course grade from the same screen. And when you select a course, it takes you all the way through to the element view for that learner.
  • Added more learner session info to Gradebook: you can now see ‘last active’ date as well as ‘registered’ date for each course (ejected and completed dates also included).

May 24 2023

  • Restructured the Gradebook page header for each offering to include a breakout of the number of registrants with a graphical display.
  • Enhanced the paging component for all pages. All pages now show how many total pages there are for a given section
  • Inserted alert on the course listing when there are unpublished elements..
  • Changed the icon for a Test awaiting grading to an hourglass to be more visually intuitive.
  • Completed root cause analysis for completion report timing errors around the time of migration and will be moving to resolution development in the coming days.

May 23, 2022

A lot of good things over the last 24 hours. In particular, the team has:

  • Put in place the ability to link directly to notifications from offerings and elements. This means that admins are able to see all of the notifications present within a given offering. We will continue this work in the coming days so that admins can create notifications for a given offering in that same page. We had a number of users requesting this, and we are building it out as a tier 2 issue.
  • Resolved an API bug that was preventing certain organizations from filtering on user registration
  • Resolved a description bug impacting certain users. Missing descriptions on offerings left over from the migration have all been restored.
  • Lengthened links on username (first, last) to resolve a bug creating tier 1 issues for a small number of clients.
  • Resolved the drag-and-drop issues in rule sets. Drag-and-drop prioritization is now fully functional and does not require any workarounds…
  • Continued work on the DigitalChalk rules remediation. A good amount of progress was made here..

May 22, 2023

I hope everyone had a nice weekend. Over the weekend, the team:

  • Enhanced a prior fix to Element missing data concerns and Course element missing instances to resolve certain edge cases.
  • Resolved and reset outstanding edge case instances where user elements had been put into “ready to grade”.
  • Resolved problem with SCORM courses set to complete with a 0% grade.
  • Implemented several enhancements to breadcrumbing in the Gradebook. Breadcrumbing work will continue throughout the site as we progress throughout the next few weeks. We greatly appreciate the feedback you have provided on this.

May 20, 2023

In the last 24 hours the dev team:

  • Added an “Ejected” filter to the transcript page.
  • Resolved issue with customer user field dropdown default.
  • Restored the saving of Custom EULAs into orgs.
  • Continued to resolve bugs in the rule sets.

May 19, 2023

In the last 24 hours, we have:

  • Resolved a bug that was impacting the Ready to Grade status for elements
  • Further refined element availability in courses.
  • Resolved multiple small bugs in our rules engine.
  • Resolved an issue in the media library that was putting certain media types into the wrong place
  • Resolved certain catalog links issues.

May 18, 2023

At this time, all critical path issues – issues preventing the registration of students to a course, consuming the appropriate content, being graded, completing the course, and (where relevant) receiving a certificate – have been addressed. You and your students should be able to progress through those steps without requiring redress. We are now focused on tier 2 issues that have a meaningful impact on business operations. Particularly issues around notifications, rules, and reports.

In addition, while browser caching issues have declined meaningfully in the last few days, we have been asked by many clients to provide a browser cache clearance guidance document, that is attached to this email. We hope that you and your users find this to be helpful.

In the last 24 hours, our team has:

  • Added in functionality to the gradebook to filter for assignments and tests awaiting grade.
  • Addressed a critical path bug impacting catalog bookmarks.
  • Addressed search retention in the gradebook. If you add a filter to the search, it will retain both the filter and the search. This is part of our work to enhance breadcrumbing that will be rolling out over the coming days and weeks.
  • Put in functionality so that admins can filter on “Show all” as opposed to just students in progress.
  • Restored element availability to pre-migration status.
  • Comment notifications bug fixed. Emails will now be sent to admin(s) when comments are made.
  • Resolved ILT certificate bug. Certificate timing issue is now fixed.
  • Comment icons put in place.
  • Resolved bug in multi-attempt Test progression

Our teams continue to work around-the-clock to resolve the outstanding critical path and tier 2 issues. We appreciate your partnership, we truly do.

May 17, 2023

Another good day yesterday. In the last 24 hours:

  • We resolved the issue where certifications were not presented to students for download when they met the requirements.
  • The fix error was resolved. We had an issue related to a small error in a fix we pushed out that ran for a few hours in the middle of the day.
  • Video delivery lengths have been restored to the Course Delivery pages. Learners can now see how long a video will take before they go in.
  • The Visit time bug in Gradebook was resolved.
  • The Rule prioritization bug was resolved. This should work smoothly now for all users.
  • All xAPI completion issues have been fully resolved. There should now be no instances where xAPI content will not launch and complete for learners.
  • Sub-teams link restored.
  • The CSV option for custom reports has been restored. As mentioned in yesterday’s release notes, if you feel that you have users who were impacted by the “Falsely marked as completed for a course during the migration” issue, and they have not been restored properly, please do let us know. We believe that the fix we rolled out has fully addressed this issue, but we want to ensure no outstanding edge cases.

Our team works around the clock to resolve outstanding critical path and tier 2 issues.

——————-

May 16, 2023

In the last 24 hours:

  • We resolved the issue where mobile certifications were not executing properly on mobile devices. Users should be able to download their certifications over the phone without a problem. If they report that they can’t do this, please ask them to clear out their cache and try again, but the cache-clearing problem should impact very few users.
  • Meaningful progress made on the “false complete” user migration issue, possible resolution. I will send a separate email on this to the impacted users within the next hour. If you do not receive this email, and you have users impacted by this issue, please let me know.
  • Restored options for sorting users in the gradebook and expanding the number of users viewable by page was implemented.
  • Restored all search capabilities on mobile. Please let us know if your search is not coming up properly as we believe we addressed all reported cases.
  • Character limits on offerings and descriptions resolved.
  • Custom sorts in the Catalog enabled.
  • Gradebook enhancement – while in the Gradebook you can now remain in the user record through multiple activities, you don’t need to go back and re-enter.
  • xAPI completion issues resolved.
  • WooCommerce integration restored
  • Issues where the group name was inserted into notifications inappropriately resolved.

Our team works around the clock to resolve outstanding critical path and tier 2 issues.

May 15, 2023

In the last 24 hours:

  • We have resolved some users’ issues with copying courses, tests, and surveys. This should work smoothly for all users.
  • We believe that we have addressed all issues relating to mobile functions. The most common problem recently is uncleared Safari browser caches on iPhones. Please ask admins or users to follow these instructions for cache clearing on iPhones and then see if they still have any issues.

Our team continues to work around the clock to resolve outstanding critical path and tier 2 issues, particularly those related to the false completion migration issue and some rules issues.

Kind regards,

May 14, 2023

Some good news. We are confident that we have resolved all critical-path registration, launch, completion, grading and certification issues. We have now had thousands of users undergo the new fixes and extensive testing, and performance has remained robust. The false-completion migration issue is the only outstanding critical-path issue and we have our team focused on that, and that is specific to a set of users.

There are a few edge cases where users are still encountering problems, and appropriate response:

  • User getting Access Denied message: Please ask the user to clear their browser cache. If your user is on a laptop or PC, the easiest way to do this is to press down and refresh the page. We received no calls or emails from users yesterday (outside of password resets), so we believe that this issue is resolved for all but a small number of individuals. If you are still seeing this problem in your user base, and it is not resolved by clearing the browser cache, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us and we will set up a meeting with our IT team to resolve it.
  • User unable to complete course or element: This is now only happening for learners who encountered the false “Course Completed” issue in the migration. We continue to work on an automated resolution for this issue, but learners can be reset quite quickly through the Users Tab, or through the Gradebook. If you aren’t sure how to do this, please reach out to our support team who can walk you through this.

May 13, 2023

In the last 24 hours:

  • Site speed issues are resolved. Please let us know if you encounter system lags, but at this point, even in surge periods, there seems to be no degradation in performance.
  • SCORM completion issue was resolved. This was our most impactful critical path issue, and it appears to be fully resolved. The fix went in quite late last night, and users need to log out of DigitalChalk and log back in to ensure that they will not see this issue recur. We had extensive testing on this and have had over 1,000 successful completions at this time, but please do let us know if your users encounter completion issues of any nature.
  • Chalkboard completion issue resolved. Yesterday evening from 6:00 – 10:00 ET, there was an issue with certain Gradebooks. This issue has been addressed and resolved.
  • Simplified the ability to add new fields to drop downs.
  • Added an “Ejected” filter to the Student Registration Listing.
  • Resolved an issue where certain learners were not appearing in Gradebooks

We are focused this weekend on validating all of the critical path issue resolutions and fixing the “users who were inappropriately completed during migration” issues and other tier 2 issues. We remain confident that all critical path issues will be cleared from the platform early next week.

May 12, 2023

In the last 24 hours:

Site speed issues seem to be resolved.  AWS has addressed all of its known issues, and we have implemented several optimizations and guardrails to keep the site performing well.  Please do let us know if you have any issues with site performance.

– Gradebook issues cleanup has been addressed, and critical-path issues resolved:

Our team has addressed all of the critical-path issues in the Gradebook.  More work will be done on the Gradebook in the coming days, but we believe that we have resolved all issues preventing the core functions of the Gradebook from executing properly for all users.  These include:

  • Certain instances were where learners were showing in Gradebooks, but Admins were not able to grade.
  • Instances where Users were not showing in Gradebooks
  • Instances where user pages in Gradebook are not properly presenting

In addition, the changes that we pushed out late yesterday addressed the platform’s ability to maintain flow from User down to the Gradebook, which several users had requested.

  • Issues with DesignBuilder and API resolved.
  • Instances where elements were missing for students were resolved.

   ———————————

May 11, 2023

In the last 24 hours, we have pushed out the following:

  • SCORM xml error resolved. This was driving the “Access Denied” issue that some users were experiencing
  • Chalkboard video layouts restored. This addresses the learner experience where certain chalkboard formats were unable to see certain portions of content
  • API general fixes, limit offset fix and user field values have all been addressed.
  • Site sluggishness being addressed – Reporting, uploading (and other) impacts. We continue to work on this with AWS. Yesterday the site had performance issues as we attempted to put in place a fix from AWS, and for that we apologize. However, the follow-up fix from AWS appears to have had meaningful improvement, and we believe that a number of the issues with reporting have been reduced. We are monitoring this closely. We ask that, for the next day or two, larger reports are run outside of peak traffic times. As mentioned earlier, we continue to work round the clock on this issue and believe that we will make more meaningful traction over the next few days.
  • Test # of attempts issue has been fixed. Administrators can now set values for number of times a test can be taken.
  • Ability to offer multiple accounts with the same email restored.
  • xAPI launch issues resolved.
  • Certificates issue resolved. Please note, if you have certificates that were issued since the launch, and have an urgent need for those certificates, they need to be regenerated. But this issue is resolved for all certificates issued going forward. We should have a
  • Mapping for Address and Phone in bulk imports issue resolved.
  • Missing Elements
  • Issue with Language and Region not appearing in imports addressed. Please reach out to support to discuss the fix with our team if this is used by your team. We are proactively reaching out to all known users to discuss the new approach to this issue.

May 10, 2023

In the last 24 hours, we have pushed out the following:

  • Chalkboard video layouts restored. This addresses the learner experience where certain chalkboard formats were unable to see certain portions of content
  • Database optimization work continues. Addressing site sluggishness.
  • API general fixes
  • API limit/offset fix
